If you’ve been playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt<\/strong> on Steam with a controller, chances are you’ve seen that infinitely annoying “Control Scheme changed” box popping up whenever you want to take a screenshot.<\/p>\n

Well, while there is no in-game option for disabling it, a quick and easy tweak in the game’s configuration files should do the trick.<\/p>\n

Go into the Witcher 3 settings folder inside your own Documents folder (eg. C:\\Users\\Your_Username\\Documents\\The Witcher 3<\/code>) and open the user.settings<\/code> file with a text editor.<\/p>\n

Simply add LockControlScheme=2<\/code> in its own line, just below [Hidden]<\/code>.
\nThat’s it, really!<\/p>\n

If this doesn’t work, you could try editing the actual game’s hidden.ini<\/code> file.
\nYou can find it in the Witcher 3 install folder (get into the Steam folder and navigate to SteamApps\\common\\The Witcher 3\\bin\\config\\base<\/code>).
\nMake sure to make a backup copy of the hidden.ini<\/code> file, just in case.
\nThen, change the LockControlScheme=0<\/code> option to LockControlScheme=2<\/code>.<\/p>\n

What this tweak actually do is locking your HUD<\/abbr> to controller use only. This means that, even though you’ll still be able to play with (or occasionally use) your mouse and keyboard, you’ll only see controller button prompts.
